NEW LAGOS WRITERS EXCO HAILS
NLNG AND NOBEL PRIZE WINNERS


The new Executive of the Association of Nigerian Authors, Lagos branch led by its chairman, Mr. Chike Ofili congratulates Ms Mabel Segun and Prof. Akachi Ezeigbo the joint winners of this year’s Writers prize for children’s literature by the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas, NLNG.

According to Ofili, “This is victory to sustained commitment to writing, and a special victory to these ANA Lagos writers who have continued to create in a state of chaos.” The chairman further promised that “their joint-joy which was tampered with at the award by the boycotting absence of the family of writers would be fully restored back to them at a special reading in their honour on sat November 10, 2007 by the new Lagos Executive”

The ANA Lagos Exco also rejoices with. Doris Lessing, the 2007.Nobel Prize winner for literature whose Grass [Still] Sings at 87 without withering like her African roots.

The new Executive also encourages writers all over to renew their love of the fine art of writing because it is still a noble and worthy cause, whilst also re-newing their physical and mental commitment to the association. “We promise a very vibrant and colourful ANA Lagos that will be the envy of the Art House” says Chairman Chike; “So let all the absentees return.”

Other members of the Sat. October 6 elected officials are: Daggar Tolar: Vice President; Ralph Tagathera: Secretay General; Adesina Olusanya: Assistant Secretary; Chris Akomah: Publicity Secretary; Iquo Eke: treasurer and Akeem Lasisi, Financial Secretary.
